In a meet and greet headed by Xentra President, Maricel Medel, students from various educational institutions in and around Malolos, Bulacan get the chance to know more about the company’s
management team and the opportunities it offers. In fact, Xentra has been in an ongoing partnership with local universities including Bulacan State University (BSU), Centro Escolar University (CEU), and La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP).
Importance of Partnering with Educational Institutions
Partnerships with these local educational institutions have helped students land on-the-job training for IT positions within Xentra Group. In fact, this past summer of 2022, Xentra accepted 25 on-the-job trainees with paid allowances. After their 3-month OJT period, more than 50% of the students were accepted as Trainees and then further hired to become Junior Developers with the possibility of becoming regular employees in the coming months.
In less than a year, students have become trainees to employees earning above minimum wage salaries, without having to travel far and commute in traffic to Manila, and are now able to contribute as tax-paying citizens to the society.
Looking Ahead
Medel and her management team has been managing employees remotely. With the increasing number of staff to manage however, and with the added student trainees, Xentra Group is now planning to
put up its headquarters in Malolos, Bulacan.
Malolos is a great place to put up a headquarters for an IT company considering its proximity to universities. This decision is great for the company to give back to the community by employing students and graduating individuals from nearby educational institutions.
