The Barasoain Run 2024, held on September 22 at the New City Hall Building, Brgy. Bulihan, Malolos, Bulacan, was a huge success, bringing together runners from all over the region to promote health and camaraderie. Organized by Team Barasoain Running Heroes, the event featured three race distances: 16KM, 10KM, and 5KM, with Xentra proudly standing as one of the major sponsors of the event and sending a team of 28 employees to participate.

Ready At the Gun Start

On race day, Xentra employees met up at the Malolos Convention Center before heading to the starting point. A designated representative of the Barasoain Run led the participants, in each category, in a 10-minute warm-up session before they set off on their respective races, ensuring everyone was race-ready and motivated.

The run kicked off in the early hours with a general assembly at 3:30 AM, and the first gun start for the 16KM run at 4:10 AM. The 10KM race followed at 4:30 AM, with the 5KM race starting at 4:50 AM. The day was filled with enthusiasm, as runners took to the course, pushing themselves to their limits.

A Special Occasion

Xentra’s participation in the event was a special occasion. It was the company chairman, Maner Puyawan’s, birthday. In celebration of his birthday, the Chairman has decided to cover the registration fees for all participating employees, provide custom Xentra-branded running shirts, and even offer cash prizes for the top three finishers within the company.

To further support his employees’ preparation for the run, the Chairman has enlisted the help of his personal fitness coach, Coach Dax, a well-known expert in the field of endurance training.

During the main program, which ran from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM, Mellanie Alpay, the company’s newly appointed president, delivered a speech thanking the Xentra employees, other participants, and the event organizers, even mentioning the chairman’s birthday. Her speech highlighted the company’s commitment to fostering health and wellness, not just through work but also through events like the Barasoain Run.

Employees Deliver a Strong Performance

Xentra had an impressive turnout, with 16 employees participating in the 5KM run and 11 employees in the 10KM run. The competitive spirit was alive, and Xentra celebrated several top finishers:

Top 3 Xentra finishers in the 5KM:

  • Daine Galano
  • Aldon Prince Velasco
  • Christien Froi Feliciano

Top 3 Xentra finishers in the 10KM:

  •  John Francis Dela Cruz
  • Carl Joseph Dela Cruz
  • David Christian Calalang

The day was a fantastic showcase of Xentra’s commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle among its employees, encouraging everyone to push themselves physically while fostering a sense of community. Cathy Raymundo, VP for HR and Admin, was also there to participate and provide support, even saying,

“It was super fun event. Next time we hope the first finisher comes from Xentra.”

Throughout the event, Xentra’s Booth #4 served as a hub for employees and interested participants, with Dani Manuel manning the booth to engage with attendees and promote the company.

Goal Achieved

The Barasoain Run 2024 wasn’t just about running—it was about teamwork, perseverance, and embracing a healthier lifestyle. Xentra is proud of its employees for stepping up and participating in this meaningful event, and we look forward to more opportunities to engage in health and wellness activities as a team.

An Important Update from Xentra

It’s never easy to write something like this.

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to wind down the operations of Xentra Infotech Solutions, Inc. (Philippines).

This decision comes after a challenging period, and while it marks the end of this chapter for our Philippine entity, it does not define the entirety of Xentra’s journey.

What This Means

  • Xentra InfoTech Solutions, Inc. (Philippines) will be closing its operations
  • Xentra Solutions, LLC (USA) will continue to operate and support our clients
  • All active engagements will be properly transitioned to ensure continuity where applicable

We remain fully committed to honoring our obligations and maintaining the level of service our clients expect.

Why This Decision Was Made

Like many businesses, we faced a combination of challenges that became unsustainable over time. Despite significant efforts and continued investment, we reached a point where closing our Philippine operations was the most responsible path forward.

This decision was not made lightly.

Looking Ahead

While this marks the end of one part of our organization, Xentra USA continues forward—supporting clients, delivering work, and building on what we’ve created.

The relationships, learnings, and foundations built through Xentra Philippines will continue to shape what comes next.

With Gratitude

To our team, our clients, and our partners—especially those who stood with us through our Philippine journey—thank you.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and for believing in something we were trying to build—something that meant more than just work.

This was never just a company. It was a shared vision, a collective effort, and a piece of all of us.

And while this chapter is coming to an end, what we created together doesn’t simply disappear. It stays—with us, in what we’ve learned, what we’ve built, and who we’ve become.
