Xentra Group of Companies inked its partnership with universities in Malolos to help graduating students in their on-the-job training (OJT) and future job placements. For the said educational institutions, the partnership signals exciting collaboration with Xentra in areas of learning and development, and recruitment and future job placement, providing future graduates with career opportunities in the information technology industry.

Held at Xentra Tower, Xentra’s headquarters in Malolos, Bulacan, the MOA signing covered students from Bulacan State University (BulSU) and Centro Escolar University – Malolos Campus (CEU Malolos). It was led by Xentra President Maricel Medel, together with VP of Software Development Lemmuel Cabuhat, Project Manager Donna Belle Piscasio, and several senior employees.

The First Successful Batch

Previous partnerships with BulSU, CEU, and La Consolacion University Philippines (LCUP) have helped students land on-the-job training for IT positions within Xentra Group. In fact, in the summer of 2022, Xentra accepted 25 on-the-job trainees with paid allowances. After their 3-month OJT period, more than 50% of the students were accepted as trainees and then further hired to become Junior Developers.

In less than a year, students have become trainees to employees earning above minimum wage salaries, without having to travel far and commute in traffic to Manila, and are now able to contribute as tax-paying citizens to the society.

Because of the success of Xentra’s first batch of OJT graduates, this year’s trainees have more than doubled in number. In fact, BulSU has requested for Xentra to accept trainees not only from the information technology department, but also from other school departments. While it’s up for future consideration, Xentra is now focusing on providing IT training to students graduating with a degree in IT and other related fields.

The New and Upcoming Batch

This year’s MOA signing was first sealed with CEU on the morning of February 15, 2023, Wednesday. In attendance were Program Head of Computer Education Dr. Josan Tamayo, and Program Head in Accountancy Mr. Pilipino Ramos. They have 15 students that will undergo training with Xentra.

By afternoon, it was BulSU’s turn to ink the MOA with Xentra. It was attended by University President Dra. Cecilia Gascon, Dean of the College of ICT Dr. Keno Piad, College Secretary Lester Phil Cruz, Department Head of BSIT Aaron Paul Dela Rosa, and SIP Coordinators, Ma. Ruby Angela Crisostomo and Sheldon Arenas. BulSU has the highest number of OJT students with Xentra at 115 trainees.

The OJT program vows to provide students with exceptional IT training experience and, at the same time, amplify Xentra’s efforts to reach out to the community in the area..

Xentra’s partnership with universities is one of the many ways the company wants to give back to its community. With the recent partnership, Xentra hopes to contribute to the community development in the province of Bulacan through academic linkages.

What’s Next

Aside from CEU and BulSU, Xentra is set to seal its partnership with La Consolacion University of the Philippines soon.

An Important Update from Xentra

It’s never easy to write something like this.

After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to wind down the operations of Xentra Infotech Solutions, Inc. (Philippines).

This decision comes after a challenging period, and while it marks the end of this chapter for our Philippine entity, it does not define the entirety of Xentra’s journey.

What This Means

  • Xentra InfoTech Solutions, Inc. (Philippines) will be closing its operations
  • Xentra Solutions, LLC (USA) will continue to operate and support our clients
  • All active engagements will be properly transitioned to ensure continuity where applicable

We remain fully committed to honoring our obligations and maintaining the level of service our clients expect.

Why This Decision Was Made

Like many businesses, we faced a combination of challenges that became unsustainable over time. Despite significant efforts and continued investment, we reached a point where closing our Philippine operations was the most responsible path forward.

This decision was not made lightly.

Looking Ahead

While this marks the end of one part of our organization, Xentra USA continues forward—supporting clients, delivering work, and building on what we’ve created.

The relationships, learnings, and foundations built through Xentra Philippines will continue to shape what comes next.

With Gratitude

To our team, our clients, and our partners—especially those who stood with us through our Philippine journey—thank you.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and for believing in something we were trying to build—something that meant more than just work.

This was never just a company. It was a shared vision, a collective effort, and a piece of all of us.

And while this chapter is coming to an end, what we created together doesn’t simply disappear. It stays—with us, in what we’ve learned, what we’ve built, and who we’ve become.
